Events of the Recent Past
The PLSC organizes and sponsors various events throughout the year.
Some recent events are listed below as information for members,
prospective members, and other persons interested in PLSC activities.
These past events are listed with the most recent first.
- Hunter Education Course
- Dates: Saturday & Sunday, 9 & 10 Sept 2023
(Students must attend both days)
- Times: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM both days
- Location: PLSC Clubhouse and ranges
(3.4 miles west of Chassell on
the Chassell-Painesdale Rd)

- Training Course: Stop the Bleed
- Date: Thursday, September 7, 2023
- Location: PLSC Clubhouse
- Time: 6 - 8 PM
- Description: This course will cover basic first aid for
severe bleeding. The course is offered by local medical
professionals.
- Fee: None. The course is free and open to the public.

- Michigan Defensive Firearms Institute (MDFI) Training Class
- Dates: Saturday, August 26, 2023
- Time: 9 AM to 7 PM EDT
- Location: PLSC Ranges and Clubhouse
- Presentation: MDFI is a Michigan-based professional
instructional organization.
- Description: MDFI will present a training class,
Foundation Carbine, using facilities provided by PLSC, the host
club. The class is open to the general public as well as members
of the PLSC.
- Three-Gun Event
- Date: 6 August 2023; Sunday
- Time: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, EDT
- Location: PLSC Ranges
- Entry Fee: $20
- This will be a dynamic event in which entrants will use a rifle,
a shotgun, and a handgun in a dynamic setting.
- General Membership Meeting
- Date: Thursday, 20 July 2023
- Times: Activities start 6 PM
- Location: PLSC Clubhouse and ranges
- Dinner at 6 PM. General meeting follows dinner.

- Range Work Bee - Spring 2023
- Date: May 20, 2023, Saturday
- Time: 10:00 AM until early afternoon
- Location: PLSC Ranges and Clubhouse
- Many volunteers are needed. There is plenty of work to be done

- Date: March 18, 2023; Saturday
- Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, EDT

- Deer Rifle Sight-In Day
- Date: Saturday, October 29, 2022
- Time: Range opens at 11 am. Assistance and use of
supplied sighting-in equipment furnished until 3 pm.
- Location: PLSC Clubhouse and rifle range.
- Public is welcome. Club grounds will be open to both
members and non-members.
- Lunch (free) will be available at the club at noon.
- Participants are encouraged to invite other persons to the
event.

- General Meeting and Family Fun Day
- Date: Saturday, 17 Sept 2022
- Times: Activities start 10 AM
- Location: PLSC Clubhouse and ranges
- A family-friendly membership social event
- Activities will start at 10 AM.
- Lunch about noon.
- A general membship meeting will follow lunch.
- Michigan Defensive Firearms Institute (MDFI) Training Classes
- Dates: Saturday, July 30, and/or Sunday, July 31, 2022
- Times: 9 AM to 7 PM both days
- Location: PLSC Ranges and Clubhouse
- Presentation: MDFI is a Michigan-based professional
instructional organization that provides sound and effective
training to create citizens that are competent and confident in
their chosen defensive disciplines.
- Description: MDFI will present a weekend of pistol
training classes using facilities provided by PLSC, the host club.
Two different classes will be offered, one on Saturday and another
on Sunday. The classes are open to the general public as well as
members of the PLSC.
