 Membership in the Portage Lake Sportsmen is available by submitting
          a membership application, by reading the club rules and submitting a
          signed agreement to abide by them, by completing both a Range Safety
          Briefing and a Range Familiarization Session on the PLS club grounds,
          and by paying the membership dues.
 
 Current and former members may renew their memberships by completing
          and submitting a membership application, by paying the required dues,
          and by reading the current rules and signing an agreement to abide by
          them. They must satisfy the requirement for attending a Range
          Familiarization Session at least once every three years. Note:
          For membership year 2025-26, they must complete a Range Safety
          Briefing.
 
 Upon approval of the application and completion of membership
          requirements, an applicant will receive membership credentials,
          including any necessary access codes.
 
 Annual memberships start on May 1st of the current year and end on
          April 30th of the following year. Membership entitles each member to
          enter the club property and to use the supplied shooting facilities
          and to vote at the annual meeting.
 
 The club offers four different types of full memberships:
 
         Life: Non-expiring membership, age 18 or older.
         Regular: Annual membership, age 18 or older.
         Senior: Annual membership at half the cost of full membership. For
          persons age 65 and older. 
         Student: Annual membership at half the cost of full membership. For
          high school and full-time college students age 18 and older.
         
         
          Note: The spouse, minor children, and minor grandchildren of a
          full member are considered associate members. They may not vote, and
          when on club property must be accompanied by the full member who is
          responsible for their actions.
          
 Applications for Regular, Senior, or Student
          memberships in the Portage Lake Sportsmen's Club may be
          submitted either on-line or through the mail. Applications for
          Life membership may be submitted only through the mail.
 
 Work Credits for Membership Dues
 
 Members who volunteer for work projects to enhance club facilities,
          operation, and activities can earn credits toward payment of annual
          dues for the next membership year. The current provisions of the work
          credit policy are described in the 2025-26 Work-Hour Credit document (pdf
          format).
 
 Online Membership Application or Renewal
 
 1)   Use the online membership
          application to submit payment via PayPal.
 
 2)   Review the Club Rules.
 
 3)   If you have not completed a timely Range Familiarization
          session, check the club calendar or contact the
          secretary for upcoming dates to complete a required session. (Club contact information).
 
 4)   For the 2025-26 membership year: If you have not
          completed a Hands-On Range Safety Briefing, check the home page, the events page,
          or the club calendar, or
          contact the club president for upcoming dates to complete the required

 Mail-In Membership Application or Renewal
 
 1)   Print and complete the current Membership & Renewal
          Application Form (pdf format). Or, contact the club secretary
          to obtain a copy of the Membership & Renewal Application form.

 2)   Review the Club Rules.
 
 3)   If you have not completed a timely Range Familiarization
          session, check the club calendar or contact the
          secretary for upcoming dates to complete a required session.

 4)   For the 2025-26 membership year: If you have not

          or the club calendar, or
          contact the club president for upcoming dates to complete the required

 5) Mail the completed application form and payment to the club PO box.
          Forms and payment may also be submitted at a Range Safety Briefing or
          at a Range familiarization session.
 
 Annual Membership Renewal Notification
 
 Annual memberships expire each year on April 30. A letter about
          membership renewal is sent to each annual and life member before
